I don’t know about you, but 2020 has been a beast for me. On every level, we as Americans, parents, family members, employers and employees have had the bathwater and the baby thrown at us.
There are only a few more months until we 2021 and we all are hoping for a much better year.
HOWEVER, VETERANS ARE STRUGGLING TOO
- Many of our veterans have had it so much worse
- Some have come back to Project Help several times due to these troublesome times
- Many are combat vets suffering from PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) and/or TBI (traumatic brain injury)
Thankfully, they are again reaching out for help, slowly but surely we are hearing from them.
Believe it or not, this is good news. Why?
If they stay hunkered down many other problems can arise. Because of their injuries (both physical and emotional), they are more likely to turn to drugs, alcohol, abusive behavior, and suicide.
Project Help is gearing up to take on the challenge that is coming at us. Often times, these vets need a shoulder, a helping hand in figuring out what to do next, some financial support and some great connections for employment. We are ready, willing and able to be the organization that can do that quickly and if it’s beyond our skillset, we have partner organization to refer for housing and mental health issues.
We will always be there for our heroes… it would be awesome if you would step up and help them too!
So, what do you say? Can we count on you to help a veteran who is in dire straits? We need your help just as they need ours!
