Empowering Veterans Through Community and Support
How This New Jersey Veteran Charity Got Started

Sandy Mitchell, Founder
Founder Sandy Mitchell was married to a Vietnam Veteran for over 15 years. He experienced many traumas and suffered horribly when he returned home. He lost his battle with the war in his head and committed suicide in 1978.
Sandy has experienced many of the same issues that she helps veterans with today. “It was definitely one of the worst things to go through, but, if you don’t quit and get the support you need, you will soar to heights you would not have otherwise reached.”
Sandy had a long and amazing career in the corporate world. She was an accountant and IT liaison at a fortune 100 company in New Jersey.
In 2016 Project Help was established by Sandy, a passionate group of veterans, family members and advocates who recognized the unique challenges faced by those who have served. Our team is committed to creating a world where every veteran feels valued, supported, and empowered to achieve their fullest potential.
Why We Serve
Every veteran has a story of courage, resilience, and sacrifice. At Project Help, we believe it is our duty to ensure these stories are met with gratitude, respect, and action. We aim to help struggling veterans and their families transition successfully into civilian life and beyond.
